Help Cindy Russo get through cancer treatment
Donación protegida
My sister, Cindy Russo, was diagnosed with HER2+ Stage 2B Breast Cancer in February of 2023. This news came as a terrible surprise to us as there is no family history of cancer.
After meeting with her doctors, my sister immediately started an extremely taxing chemotherapy regimen which led to her having to take a leave of absence from her career.
Unfortunately, after six months of grueling treatment she now must undergo a mastectomy on September 26th. This surgery will be followed by 25 rounds of radiation, six more months of chemotherapy, and an additional surgery.
With this disappointing news, my sister has had to extend her leave of absence in order to continue her treatment.
Prior to my sister’s diagnosis, she was just a single mother working full time to provide for her eight and ten year old sons while balancing work and life the best she could. The uncertainty of when, or if, she can return to work is now causing tremendous financial stress in an already difficult situation as her bills continue to accumulate.
I am organizing this fundraiser with the hope that together we can provide her with some financial relief, as she continues her long battle against this disease. The ability to maintain some level of normalcy for her sons would undoubtedly alleviate at least a small portion of her stress and allow her to focus on her treatment. It is incredibly difficult to take care of others when you can’t take care of yourself, and now we need her to take care of herself.
I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read my sister’s story. Whether you donate $5.00 or $500.00 it would all be greatly appreciated and go a long way towards helping an amazing woman. Thank you.
