My daughter  has been in the hospital since August 10th. What started out as a cold and flu like symptoms quickly turned into Acute Flaccid Myelitis-  The polio like virus.  She lost complete use of her arms and was on a tracheotomy and is still on a feeding tube thru her stomache. She is currently in a nursing facility doing physical therapy and occupational therapy. In the time she has been at the nursing facility she has been making progress. She is able to walk about 400 feet. But needs help to stand. Her fingers move on her left hand and a little bit on her right fingers. Due to her condition at this moment, she needs 24 hour nursing care as she is also a brittle diabetic. Medicaid and Medicare is one week away from ending. Without help her progress will stop. We are grateful for all donations to help her regain her life.
