Annie Rues Neidel, Ph.D. Memorial Fund
Spende geschützt
The Backstory:
This past November our community lost an amazing woman. Annie Rues Neidel, Ph.D. lost her battle with breast cancer at age 41, leaving behind her husband, Jim, and two very young children Jimmy (7) and Josie (2). Annie truly brightened any room with her infectious smile and over the past few months I've been inspired from hearing the positive impact she left on so many lives from friends to co-workers to students to former classmates and in all the different communities she was a part of. One theme has been consistent - how welcome and comfortable she made everyone she came in contact with feel. As a testament of Annie’s strength and tenacity; in 2016 she completed her Ph.D. while pregnant and undergoing treatment for breast cancer (unbeknownst to most).
The Goal:
As the phrase goes, "it takes a village to raise a child." To assist Jim, who is now solely responsible for the little ones, we are raising funds to alleviate any financial stress and to allow the kids to stay in the social activities they enjoy being a part of. To help the family through this and do our best to eliminate the financial worry and fear that can come with such a tragic loss, we wanted to provide an outlet for others in our community to get involved. Specifically, we are hoping to raise $25,000 in order to provide before and after school care, extracurricular activities and summer care for the children.
