Help Us Lay Our Mother to Rest (Ann DiGioia)

Sadly, I'm starting this fundraising effort in order to help with the efforts to give Ann DiGioia a proper + loving resting place. Ann was mother to Gary Thorpe Jr, Tim Thorpe + Michelle DiGioia, grandmother to Levi, Asher + Eloise + mother in law to Gretchen Thorpe, Rebekah Thorpe + Kris Cloak. The last few years of her life were difficult, filled with many battles that affected her health + overall wellbeing. Regardless of the challenges of the most recent years, her family + loved ones will always remember the happy + fond memories that they have with their mother, grandmother, sister + friend.

On Christmas Eve, we received a call that Ann was in the CCU + that she had been put on a ventilator. This, amazingly, was not the first time in last couple years that Ann had been on a ventilator - so while this was upsetting + scary, we were not expecting what was to come next. Within about 30min, another call came that she was in cardiac arrest + that she was likely going to die - that her children should come.

Ann passed peacefully in the early hours of Christmas morning, with her children by her side. We are all comforted in the knowledge that she was welcomed home by Jesus + is now back with her mother + father.

We're asking for donations to assist in laying her to rest - as she unfortunately, does not qualify for any type of assistance as we have already looked into those options. After Ann has been put to rest, there will be a small, private service for family + close friends. In the spring, we plan to have a celebration of life locally where anyone who knew + loved Ann or cared for the family can come + celebrate with us. We will update with information on these dates as they become available.
