Andrew and Courtney’s fire relief fund

God was with us this morning! I woke up at 2am to popping noises in what sounded like the kitchen. I woke up Andrew who went in the kitchen to investigate. He opened the utility room door that leads to the garage & we both saw flames. He yelled that the house was on fire, and we took off running. I called 911 while he grabbed Thomas & I grabbed the baby. Thankfully Jaxson is with Erik this weekend. We ran out into the front yard in our jammies with Evelyn wrapped in a blanket. The deputies were there within minutes and let us sit in the squad car to keep Evelyn warm and away from the smoke. Our neighbors came running over & brought us blankets and me a jacket because they heard the popping noise too, looked out their window and saw the flames. The firefighters were there shortly after just as the garage door began to lift itself up from the heat. Once that air hit, the flames got huge and climbed up the house. Oh my gosh it was so scary to watch. Our garage is basically gone. The contents are gone. The laundry room is destroyed. We lost precious family items along with EVERYTHING for Project 11. I'm absolutely sick about that. There's smoke damage throughout the entire house and everything will need to be washed and/or replaced. We can't live there for a while. I work from home and won't be able to watch my daycare kids either. We just checked into a local hotel & are waiting for the next steps. We need to board up the hole in the house as soon as the sun comes up. A firefighter told Andrew that had he not closed the laundry room door that leads into the kitchen, the house would have been gone. Friends, I was there with Andrew when he discovered the fire. He DID NOT close that door. That was God. Despite everything, we feel so blessed.
