Ancestors Awakening The Journey

Hello, my name is Pete, I have been involved with art all my life, and over the last seven years, I have composed a body of artwork under the name of 'Ancestors Awakening.' This artwork is created with patterns inspired by myth, legend, archetypal figures, Neolithic symbolism, Megaliths, the energy of ancient ancestors, and prehistoric landscapes. I create large artworks in layers of paint that, when built up, often cover patterns or details, like passages of time. Every painting or sculpture created within 'Ancestors Awakening' has a story or meaning connected to prehistoric and mythical ways of being

There is also an ebb and flow of photography, art, collaboration with others and many visits to ancient places to seek the magic within. With my paintings and the journeys made, I like to create a written and photographic narrative that further holds the flow together.

Within the book, four great people will add some wisdom and words: a poet, an archaeologist, a herbalist, and a forager. They will create passages within the book with strong links to my work and their craft that contributes to the flow. I will also be adding the stories that inspire every artwork created within Ancestors Awakening and the details from visiting ancient places for inspiration. My thoughts during the journey of discovery are translated into my art and creative practice.

I have almost completed the collection of artworks, but still doing the research, traveling, graphics and photographs to be part of the book.

With support from family and friends and selling my artworks, this book's contents are being made possible. It has not been easy as I have invested a lot of time over the last seven years and all my resources, although it is worth it.

However, I have set up a crowdfund to be able to print the book beautifully. The launch date will be 18th April 2023, a realistic timeframe from this point. As I am collating the book, the flow and information within a narrative help me realize this journey, and the book will be received significantly.

The donated funds will be used for printing, promotion and the book launch. Whether a quid or more donated, all will be gratefully received.
