Amy Verstoep’s Surgery

Hi my name is Bret and i am fundraising for Amy.

Amy Verstoep is an incredible woman. She gives and gives and gives, even when she has nothing left to offer. She just innately cares for people, it’s who she is. Over the last many years, she has dealt with excruciating back pain, that has developed into a debilitating issue. She has degenerated disks, osteoarthritis, and a plethora of other issues. Even though it is a struggle to even get out of bed, and do the basic necessities to survive, she still shows up to MyFries and loves on people. Over the last 10 years, she has gotten to know your kids, celebrated your wins, and cried with you in your losses. Even though she has dealt with so much loss, she never hesitates to think of others first and care for them with generosity. Her smile is infectious, and she asks just the right questions to make others feel completely seen.

After dealing with the Alberta health system for many years to try and come to some sort of relief (and being let down by this system for not providing this), Amy is finally getting back surgery, which will hopefully change her life. She has had to resort to getting surgery in Mexico, with expensive stay and surgery costs. Any relief from these expenses would be huge weight off of this family’s shoulders.

Taking this time off, especially as a family run business will not be easy financially. Maarten, the brain behind MyFries and Amy’s husband will be travelling along side her to take care of her through surgery.
