Amy Morrissey Memorial Scholarship

Don protégé
Amy Morrissey was a a beloved English teacher at Brookline High for 15 years before her death at age 47 in December of 2019.

Amy loved to engage with the students she taught and was a passionate advocate for kids facing all manner of disadvantages. To honor Amy's legacy, her family is raising money for two scholarships to be awarded to graduating Brookline High students of demonstrated need who have persevered in the face of adversity.  The scholarships will be awarded in coordination with an organization that Amy worked and advocated for--Steps to Success--which promotes equity for students from low-income families in Brookline.

Please contribute in any way you can. Amy was an avid runner and walker, completing the Boston Marathon in 2005. Our family will be doing a 5K and posting videos as part of this effort.  Feel free to share pictures of your favorite walk or run along with your contribution. Next year, with the pandemic behind us, we plan to do a full walk/runathon.

Contributions for this year's scholarships must be received by May 10th. Thank you for helping to support the kids Amy taught so well and cared so passionately for.
