In a perfect world, we would not be creating this GoFundMe. But here we are, creating it for a man loved and cherished by so many. As some of you know, Mark has reached an unexpected and life-changing diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is facing this challenge with strength and grace, as you would expect.
If you are blessed enough to know Mark, you have no doubt experienced the joy, laughter, passion for life, unconditional love, and unwavering loyalty that define who he is. Described by a dear friend as the greatest boss in the world: always upbeat, always smiling, a beacon of positivity; someone whose presence you want to be in. In a crowd of hundreds, Mark makes you feel like the only person in the room and a member of his extended family!
Mark has often said that he is a better person because of his loved ones and friendships, but the truth is, he has enriched our lives in ways that have made us better people.
Always giving from his heart and supporting others, Mark is not one to ask for help for himself. Now is our opportunity to honor Mark—the heart of our community, the common thread that brought us all together. The one so many lovingly refer to as “the old man.”
