Amanda's Medical and Care Fund

As many of you know, Amanda had a brain tumor removed March 31st. She was supposed to be in and out of the hospital within a week, but unfortunately she suffered major complications from surgery. She has had a serious stroke and required more surgeries to keep her alive. She was in the hospital for 4 weeks, with most of that in ICU. She has been in rehabilitation for the past 2 1/2 months and is getting better, but has a very long road ahead of her. Amanda's daughter Parker was just 9 months old when her surgery took place. Due to the severity of her brain injury, she has missed out on the past few milestones and the first birthday of her precious baby girl.
Amanda will be coming home soon and will require around the clock care. She is not able to walk on her own and requires assistance with most ADL's (activities of daily living). She is confused and needs to be redirected and reoriented frequently. On behalf of her and her family, I am asking for any assistance in helping make this transition home as smooth as possible. Medical bills are piling up and paying for caregivers in the home is very expensive. Insurance does not cover in home caregivers, therefore it becomes an out of pocket expense for the family. If anyone knows of any CNA's or direct caregivers who may be interested in helping this family, please share this page. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to help pay medical bills and to help pay for home care. Her family is so thankful for everyone who has taken the time to visit Amanda, send cards or plants, and offered their services to help get this family through a difficult time.  We all want Amanda to get better so that we can hear that infamous laugh snort.
