Donation protected
Allen has found a suitable apartment for a man with no legs. Now needs help keeping it and making it livable . Rent , phone furnishings , etc. Please anything you can afford will help. Full story below.
I am raising funds for my son Allen Sullivan a vet, African American 58 years old a victim of a blood clotting disease, Factor Five which has caused him to lose both legs. Amputations began the day before Thanksgiving 2022. They were done incorrectly, and he has been in pain ever since. Two additional operations had to be done by another surgeon. Three additional inches were removed from each leg to repair the damage. His stumps are now so short Docs say he will never walk. (artificial legs). Allen firmly disagrees!! Al is a " no complain, no whine, " The Doctors don't know who they are dealing with " kind of guy. He promises " may take a year " of hard work and pain but he will WALK .
If the initial surgeries had been done correctly, he would be walking now and probably working and looking forward to walking his daughters down the aisle.
The Doctors are not encouraging. But Allen is Uber positive. And he has remained somehow in good spirits from the beginning while in constant pain he never complains, he jokes about his tiny legs (in years past he was a competitive swimmer) ---four surgery's! -- his daughters have names for them "Edgar" and "Clyde " I think it is he laughs.
Following the repair work the pain is less and less ...but there is always "phantom' pain. Allen sets goals and typically achieves them ... his goal is to WALK. He appreciates the Doctor who did the repair work but ignores him when necessary.
He has been living in a motel room for many months which is wheelchair accessible in Ft. Mitchell Ky. Paying weekly rates. But it is untenable in the long run. He has a favorite Aunt and cousin nearby and they have been lifesavers. But he needs a permanent place of his own fully handicapped accessible. And he anticipates extra expenses on his journey ...
If you can help, please donate whatever you are comfortable with ... and may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
