My nephew, Lyam Joshua Alvarez Luján (10 years old), son of Yves Alvarez and Fabiola Luján, is bravely facing the hardest fight of his young life. We are establishing this GoFundMe to support his complex medical treatment in Peru, which includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery—a battle that may last up to a year.

Even in the midst of this, Lyam remains a bright, loving, and resilient child. His positive spirit and helpful nature uplift everyone around him. He attends a Christian school, loves math, and enjoys drawing and painting. In his free moments, he finds joy in playing soccer, Roblox, and spending time with his little brother, Luca. Lyam is the kind of child who looks for ways to help others, often with a smile or a joke—bringing light even on the hardest days.

Now, it is our turn to show up for Lyam—to surround him with the same kindness, encouragement, and generosity that he so freely gives to others.

While Peru’s public insurance system provides limited support, many critical treatment-related costs are not fully covered, leaving our family responsible for a large portion of the financial burden.
