Support Karen in Her Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected
Karen, a single parent, has worked extremely hard her entire life to support herself and her son. Unfortunately, in June of 2023, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Endometrial Adenocarcinoma (i.e., Endometrial Cancer). She underwent surgery to remove the cancer in July 2023. Following the procedure, she was forced to take time off work for 6 weeks, and consequently did not have income during that time. Surgery was followed by chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy. During these treatments, Karen worked as much as she was able, but was only able to tolerate part-time hours. At the end of November 2023, she was in remission.

Sadly, in early April 2024, Karen started having pain and a CT scan showed a recurrence of her cancer, this time with peritoneal carcinomatosis and malignant ascites. This significant disease progression has caused debilitating pain, illness, nausea, vomiting, and extreme fatigue. She receives paracentesis procedures and has again begun chemotherapy treatment. Karen is currently unable to work to support herself because of the aggressive rate of disease/cancer progression, pain, and side effects from her chemotherapy treatment. Her doctor has ordered for her to be off work for up to 12 months due to the side effects from the chemotherapy treatment that she could potentially be on for years. Taking time off work is crucial so the treatments have time to shrink (and hopefully kill) the dozens of tumors now in her abdomen and so Karen can reduce her stress levels and give her body time to respond and hopefully get back into remission.

Karen is a proud person and refused to ask for help as she was going through her first rounds of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy treatments, but now that she is totally unable to work due to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and the side effects from her treatments, she has agreed to ask for help, even though it is very difficult for her to do so. Karen is well aware that every individual and every family has their own struggles, both personal and financial, but would be eternally grateful for any compassion and generosity that anyone chooses to show. Please be assured that all donations and proceeds will go directly to support Karen to aid her recovery process and pay for her medical bills. Thank you so much in advance, and please know that Karen will continue to fight and refuses to ever give up.
