Hello, my name is Jazmin and I've created this page on behalf of my parents and our family Westie, Aiden.
Aiden is a 10 year old, former prize winner-turn rescue who joined our family two years ago. My parents had been with their first Westie, Mia, for several years now and were excited to bring in an additional companion she could happily grow old with.
Unfortunately, Aiden's previous owners had his voice box removed during his dog show days, so he is unable to bark or howl. Additionally, he developed ( soon after adoption) a cyst on his back where his spine is. Originally, this was regarded as a common cyst that would need to be regularly popped, drained, and cleaned. However, a second opinion confirmed the cyst is actually a Grade 3 Mast Cell tumor. While it is not cancerous, it continues to grow and burst as a result of its location, and is at high risk of infection each time. After some extensive research and consultation from our vet, it was decided Aiden's best option would be to have the tumor removed. This would not only prevent possible spreading into organs and lymph nodes, but prevent further risk of infection, while ultimately providing a better quality of life for him without this constant painful wound.
Photo taken after Aiden's most recent visit to the Vet, where the tumor on his back was cut, drained, and cleaned.
Aiden is the sweetest gentleman you could ever hope to meet, and takes to people instantly. He deserves to live comfortably and free of pain in his remaining years and if we could alleviate that pain, and avoid any future hardships for this little sweetheart, we are going to try our hardest.
That being said, medical bills (especially for pets) are horrendously high and don't offer nearly as many financing or billing options as for humans. The few credit based financing options my parents and I all applied for, unfortunately, did not accept our applications, so we're creating a gofundme open to donations to cover the medical bill listed below.
Important to note: Our female dog, Mia, had just suffered through severe Pyometra two months ago, needing emergency surgery which also caused around $3000, and we are still paying it off, which is why we are unable to coordinate a payment plan with Aiden at this time :(
We appreciate any forms of love and support and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your time xo
