Aid Thomas's Journey Through Seizures and Job Loss

My name is Katherine, and my best friend Thomas is a wonderful husband and father... and at 42, he's started having unexplained seizures. The first one was about a month ago. I would never have made a page except last week his job of 20 years let him go, citing "poor decision making" and "poor communication," despite knowing these neurological difficulties he is experiencing. TODAY... he had THREE seizures over the course of 6 hours, and no one can explain yet. He herniated a disc during the first seizure and each one successively made it worse. He's looking at 10-12 weeks of PT, besides being unable to drive for 90 days by state law.

After his first seizure, he was struggling to remain focused at work and becoming lightheaded, and had to use all his sick and remaining vacation time. His final pay was less than $200... and when his insurance runs out, not only will we be behind the bills I postponed due to his low paychecks, but we will also have limited options for work due to the neuro damage and extended physical therapy. Our goal amount is to cover monthly expenses like mortgage, utilities, extended health insurance and ongoing medical expenses until my husbamd is well enough to return to work.

Very honestly, right now I'm incredibly scared. Thomas' mother didn't have seizures until her 40s... and at 48, she had FIVE consecutive strokes. She was in a coma for 10 weeks, and it seems unbelievable but hos fater went into a diabetic coma for 2 weeks during the same time. During their recovery, my husband worked 2 jobs to pay our bills AND his parents. I worked weekends so I would be able to take them to doctors' appointments 4 days a week and watch our toddlers.

My husband is a good man, and right now the Lord is testing our family to the absolute limit. I know we are strong enough to survive this trial, but faith and hope don't pay the mortgage or keep the lights on. Thank you so very much for sharing this post or donating, our family is grateful.
