Support Royce and Brett Nessa’s Recovery

What started as a heartwarming celebration of their Granny’s 90th birthday — filled with laughter, love, and family togetherness — took an unexpected turn for Royce and Brett Nessa. While taking a ride on an ATV around family property, a sudden accident left both men with serious injuries, changing their lives forever.

They were quickly transported to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City, from which they were airlifted to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines for emergency care.

Royce sustained a shoulder labrum tear, bruised lung, pneumothorax, bruised kidney, 8 broken ribs, large hematoma, and a fractured knee.

Brett suffered a severe concussion, head contusions (19 staples), fractured sternum, 4 fractured ribs, fractured hip, and a broken femur in 3 places (60 staples).

Despite these challenges, both Royce and Brett are staying strong and making steady progress on the road to recovery! Their spirits are high, their determination is inspiring, and their gratitude for this new lease on life is endless.

As they continue to heal, they face a mountain of medical expenses, even after insurance—including two life flights, one surgery, long hospital stays, physical therapy, and weeks of missed work—with costs already exceeding $100,000. With your help, we can ease that burden and lift them up when they need it most.
