Aid for Matthew's Costly Vein Procedures
Donación protegida
I am Susan Primm and I am reopening the GoFundme account for my son Matthew. He had emergency vein reconstructive surgery on January 9,2025 to remove a 5-6 inch blood clot from behind his right knee. This was caused from years of decreased blood flow from a blockage he had in 2015 in his pelvis they were unable to fix at the time because of the risk involved. Now thank God medicine has advanced and since these new problems have arrived he has found a wonderful doctor from Arkansas Heart Hospital who has the confidence to get him fixed.
The surgery in January involved placing stents to open up the blood flow. His post op visit February 5 was good and tho it was still painful he had returned to work and had a follow up scheduled in August for a recheck. He had just started walking some better Then about a week later he started having that familiar pain in his groin and abdomen and the doctor ordered a venous Doppler of his pelvis to check the stents on Thursday February 27 after work. The next morning we got a call for him to return to Little Rock that day for yet another emergency surgery because he was totally occluded again. So we rushed back and they did another vein reconstructive surgery however this time it was just a partial success. The pelvis has good blood flow but the thigh does not. So after an overnight stay and blood thinner changed to one he takes by injection in the belly twice a day which is also very expensive, he was sent home with another week off and will return March 21 for another surgery where a clot buster chemical will be used. This will be a 2 day procedure with more time off, but the doctor is hopeful that this will take care of it. Meanwhile, tho Matthew does have health insurance to cover some of the cost of these surgeries, they are still $100,000 surgeries or more with balances left to pay, plus his living expenses still mount up with no sick time benefits to compensate for work time lost. Times are tough for everyone these days and something like this can be overwhelming.
We thank you for any donations to help this single dad get back to normal and be able to get back to the hardworking man he is. Thank you very much !
