My friend, Anita Riley, has been diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. She also suffers from Rheumatoid Disease, Deteriorating Disc Disease, and Graves' Disease. She is 71, a retired Deputy Sheriff in Hot Springs, AR, a widow (her first husband was a Deputy Sheriff also and killed in the line of duty. Her second husband passed in 2015 from cancer). She is a strong Christian and an active member of her church. Anita is also an avid Pekingese dog lover.

She lives alone with her two dogs on her retirement and social security. Her funds are very limited. Her one son and his wife are not able to assist her financially or as caregivers. Her grandsons are teenagers. The following is an excerpt of her message to me asking for help.

"Today is my second day of chemo. Feeling extremely tired. I will lose my hair soon. . They will follow with radiation. My immune system is an issue since I already have 2 autoimmune diseases.

Could you start a GoFundMe page please. I'm going to be needing a lot of things while going through this cancer and treatments. They are going to apply for grants for me and I'm going to reapply for Medicaid. But it may take a while. I'm going to need Ensure, Biotene toothpaste, certain foods, a house cleaner, and the list goes on. They don't have to donate money. It could be just sending the items if they prefer.
