I have set up this page to help my friend, Linda Schatz and her family raise money for the benefit of her brother, Michael Gottesman who recently suffered a terrible and debilitating accident, and to financially enable Mikey’s family to be there for him in his time of need.   While swimming in the ocean in Wilmington, NC on June 7th, "Mikey" broke his neck and is now paralyzed from the neck down.  Although he narrowly escaped drowning, his pulmonary system was severely compromised in the accident.  He has had multiple episodes of his heart stopping, each time requiring CPR to revive him.  He has had surgery to fuse and stabilize his neck but he definitely has a long road ahead of him.

Mikey has 2 kids, Harli (21) and Lukas (18) who live in Atlanta. Mikey's parents, Pearl and Izzy Gottesman are retired are constantly by his side to support Mikey every day. His sister, Linda Gottesman Schatz,and brother, Julian Gottesman live in  New York.

While I am keeping the whole family in my thoughts and prayers, I felt compelled to do something more. So, I have put this page together to raise funds to help ease the financial burden that has been placed on the family due to this tragic accident.  Whatever you can give will be received with the deep appreciation of Mikey and his family.
