Adrian’s fight against Ewings Sarcoma

Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Starr, and I am Adrian’s mom.

End of summer last year we noticed Adrian had a small lump on his right forearm and assumed it was maybe a lipoma or maybe scar tissue from a break he suffered 5 years prior. Fast forward to February 2023 the lump has now grown to about 4x the original size. Adrian’s entire life was turned on its head when we were given a diagnosis of soft tissue sarcoma, as of today 4/3/2023 we are still in the early stages of diagnosis but are now between Ewings Sarcoma and Synovial Sarcoma. We hope to have an answer by the end of this week of his exact diagnosis.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that my teenage son would be going through something so life altering. He just joined track and field , he was figuring out himself and growing into an amazing confident young man. This Spider-Man loving, PlayStation fanatic, and best older brother to his sisters Skye and Olivia, is now going to have to face a really scary year ahead.

As a mother it has been a difficult month knowing that this next year will be one of the most difficult experiences he will go though and our hope is to make it as stress free as possible. At this point, we have been trying to surround Adrian with love and strength, but the financial aspect has been also weighing heavy on my mind. At the suggestion of a new friend from Adrian’s school, who is a leukemia survivor (AMAZING!) we are sharing Adrian’s story in the hopes that we can try to lessen the financial burden from our family and possibly get items for him to be more comfortable through the process when he is at home during outpatient weeks. At this time he will be admitted at least twice a month for chemo and will be home with me doing outpatient care in the days between each stay.

Another concern we are experiencing is fertility, and we are fortunate that at this time his care covers one year of Cryobank sperm banking but after the year is up it falls to us to keep up the payments, and at 15 years old that leaves quite a few years left to pay for storage.

The projected treatment for Adrian will go beyond what MFA will cover and we will need to be in a position to continue to help support our family. The scans have been quickly adding up and we are barely a month into treatment. MRI scans copays are already $500.00 and we still have PET scans, CT scans, echocardiograms to do. As we know more costs we will update to ensure all donations are being used for treatment.

Again, anything helps our little family and it all so appreciated!

Update 4/3/23 we have officially received a diagnosis of Ewings Sarcoma.

A dear friend mentioned added a wish list so here are some items that are both needs and wants, thank you for your continued support !

Thank you all,
Adrian and family
