ADRA Medical Volunteer Trip to Mauritania Africa

Hello, My name is Daniel Bazan and I am a Cuban second-year Neuroscience Pre-Med major at La Sierra University. I have always felt a call to be a medically focused volunteer in a remote country and now I finally have the chance. If I raise enough money, I will be traveling to, and spending, 10 months in Mauritania Africa to be a part of an ADRA clinic focusing on giving medical aid and education to locals without access to either. From handing out vitamin C to performing surgery and teaching families basic hygiene such as how to brush teeth, why soap is important, and other basic education needs I will be hands-on and focused on giving the locals the aid that they need. This trip affords me the opportunity to go and help people who are not so different from you and me. However, I cannot go until I raise approximately $5,500 for the plane ticket, visa, room, food, and board expenses, medical evaluations, shots, and preventative measures against malaria, yellow fever, typhoid, Ebola, etc. The plane ticket alone is $2,200 one way and will be the biggest expense. Any extra money that is collected over the $5,500 will be left with the ADRA clinic in Mauritania so that they can further their mission and have more resources to buy medicine, shoes, clothing, food, running water, working showers and toilets, consistent clean water, and so much more for those who are in need of the clinics service.

I will be leaving the U.S. to go on the volunteer trip in September, however the closer I get to September, the more expensive the plane ticket will cost, so the faster I reach $2,200 to buy the first plane ticket, the more I can use the donated money for all the other expenses.
