On July 25th my 9 year old niece, Addison Grace, was Mercy Flighted to Doernbechers Children’s Hospital (OHSU) after an ER visit that found a brain tumor at the base of her skull. On July 26th she underwent a 6 hour surgery to remove the golf ball sized tumor ... and then the worse news came, it was Medulloblastoma (cancer).

A chemo port was placed in Addie on Friday Aug 9th, and she will be going to Seattle, WA for a six week stay to begin radiation/chemo. After this treatment is completed, she will have to continue to receive chemo therapy treatments for a full year.

Addie is a bright, bubbly & beautiful warrior who will now have to be stronger than any child should have to be! My sister is a very private person and is not one to ask for help, but she needs it.

She has health insurance for Addie, but that will not cover the entirety of medical expenses or the costs of staying in Seattle, or pay for every day household expenses for her family. She has taken the FMLA to be by Addie’s side, which means there is no current income.
