Hi, I'm AbuBakr and I live in Gloucestershire, UK. I'm currently in Year 11 and am currently sitting my GCSE exams.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen - after an intense selection day - to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk, Poland in the summer of 2027. In order to take part in this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I need to raise some money to cover my costs. The total cost for the entire program is estimated to be £3,500 which includes catering, camping gear, preparation and the final trip itself.

This will be the only opportunity I have to attend as an Explorer Scout so please help me with my fundraising - every single pound will be gratefully received! Please help!

What is the World Scout Jamboree?

This is an international event that invites scouts from all over the world to one location for 10 days to gather and have fun, share cultures and meet new people; with an expected 40,000 attendees, this is the largest modern regular youth gathering in the world. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience which I plan on attending with my local scouts group - Gloucestershire Scouts. The program involves preparation meetings and a few preparation camps, too.

This is where YOU come in! I'm relying on your generosity as I fund-raise towards this event and I would be grateful for every single pound. Any money received will go straight towards the monthly payment for the Jamboree.

About Me:

I'm an avid adventurer who loves the outdoors. I've been involved in scouting since I joined as a Beaver at the age of five and am now an active Explorer Scout - I also volunteer with younger Scouts each week.

I've been a member of the RAF Air Cadets since 2023 and have participated in numerous shooting, leadership and flying opportunities with them. Additionally, I have previously volunteered with a local charity that supports SEN children.

Since I'm 16, I'm eligible to undertake a life-guarding qualification that I've recently spent several months working towards by taking part in a life-saving course, having previously been a competitive swimmer.

A couple years ago I raised money for the Alzheimer's Society by completing a hiked marathon in the Cotswolds in 2024 and am now hoping for your support once again!
