Abseil in aid of the peads intensive care unit at the LRI
Donation protected
Hi guys, I wanted to give back to a unit that saved my sons life at birth so what other way to do it than to abseil down the hospital itself on July 5th. When Jake was born he stayed for 15 days in the intensive care unit at the Leicester Royal, when I say the staff are literal angels I mean it they made sure my boy was watched over 24/7 and only being 16 when I had him myself they made sure I was looked after too. The money raised will go towards improvements for where parents sleep when their child is in the ICU. At the minute there is only 3 rooms. The ICU takes about 6-8 patients so the parents who don't get a room have to leave their children. I don't know what I would have done without my room when Jake was born, all I did was watch the winter Olympics on the TV that was provided in the room but honestly it saved me from what was going around in my head. It also gave me space to express Jakes milk privately, wash and get dressed and just close the door to stop the beep of the machines for a little bit. These rooms are so important, I don't ever wish for any parent to see their child in the ICU but if I can help ease that for them I want to atleast try. Any donations appreciated thank you ❤️
