In Loving memory of our dad,Abraham

"Voy a buscar un rinconsito en el cielo"
Our dad was an incredible man. At 85 years old, he leaves behind shoes that will never be filled and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

He was a man that had dreams of coming to the United States and starting a new life to provide a better tomorrow for his family. Ever since arriving in the US in the 1980s, our dad and mom were driven to make the American dream happen through us - their children. We're proud to say that he did a very great job of providing the best upbringing possible through his means. Even though we didn't have much, his provision was unmatched through his efforts, words, and faith. He made us feel like we could accomplish anything in the world if we worked hard and stayed humble-- which looking back, is the best thing a parent can do for their children.

Our dad had a BIG personality and an even bigger heart that made him build long-lasting friendships through his life. Many loved his humor, others liked his taste for food, and many his zest for life. One of our dad's favorite sayings up to his lasts days was, "Algos, algo dijo el carajo." which basically translates to, "Something is better than nothing." Essentially he took every little bit of life with full appreciation. That was our dad. A fighter. A man who squeezed every last drop out of life to provide the best for us and to be with us for so long until the end. He passed graciously, next to Esmeralda by his side while listening to the song in the video above called, "Voy a buscar un rinconsito en el cielo" which means, "I'm going to find a little corner in heaven for myself."

He used to say "Vamonos, vamonos!" We would ask where and he would respond with Mexico.

Our dad's final wishes were to be buried in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, his hometown where he was born and where our family resides. His wish was to be buried next to our grandpa, Macedonio Montelongo. The total funeral services, including transportation to Mexico from Chicago, will be around $4,200. Although we will do our best to cover these costs, we would graciously accept any donation - small or large - to help offset the financial burden of such a difficult time. We appreciate your kindness and support.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Osvaldo, Israel, and Esmeralda
