I began my seminary journey with the Lutheran Theological Seminary Saskatoon in 2010 through distance learning. It has been a challenging and rewarding 5 years full of many blessings.
Let me tell you, working towards a pastoral calling while being a wife and mother has not been easy. Since my first class in 2010, our family has grown from 3 to 5 and the 6th is due to arrive late September. Yes, I am that crazy one who has asked for an extension on papers due to labour, nursed during class and still managed to keep an 80 average.
The seminary journey has been one my entire family has taken. They have held me up during my worst moments. They have kept me going every time I wanted to quit. Most of all, they have inspired me many times to see God's grace in the most unlikely of places.
This fall I will begin a 2 year internship at Peace Lutheran Leduc. This is the last stretch of our journey but it is also the time when we need to rely most on God. The cost of childcare each month will be $1950. We also have $1450 in preschool fees plus school fees for our oldest in Grade 1. We are low income and although I do get a small stipend each month of the internship, we cannot afford the cost to put three kids in childcare while still putting food on the table and a roof over our heads.
On top of the internship I will be required to pay tuition for classes throughout the next two years.
We are asking that you may find it in your heart to help us with our financial burden. Ordination has been my dream for a decade and my family has been a wonderful support so far. It has taken many prayers to be able to come with open arms and ask for help.
