Hello! My name is Nikki, and I am asking for help for one of my oldest and best friends, Abby Mundwiller. She is the strongest person I know. It has been the greatest honor to be part of her chosen family.

Some things in life you can't control. What you can control is your response to each situation. And through it all, Abby remains positive and hopeful. But it has come at a cost…

Abby has broken the record on the number of miles walked for a pre-op patient. Over 1,000 miles, which I was honored to be there when she accomplished this, earned and counting. She has also earned the title of longest patient wait time for a transplant. While these are accomplishments, they are not ones she was hoping to make. Because of these and other unfortunate circumstances, Abby has felt the weight of increasing financial burdens. To add to them, she has found out that she may not be able to receive her long-term disability benefits, and the journey to recovery hasn't even begun!

Her community has shown up in droves before, and it is due to their generous support she has been able to stay afloat thus far. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it. There is not much further that Abby can travel without losing everything she has worked so hard to obtain for her and her beautiful son.

We come to you in humble prayer that as a community we can pave the way for Abby to continue her journey to double transplant, which will ensure that her precious son has his amazing Momma by his side as he grows up.

If life were to go as planned, we wouldn't have a need for community empathy, but here we are. We ask with humble and grateful hearts.
