Abby James was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in 2018 when she was just 4 years old. After a very long surgery to remove the mass in her brain, she began physical, speech, and occupational therapy while recovering at CHOA. Following brain surgery, she began 4 long rounds of grueling high dose chemotherapy and one stem cell transplant. She walked out of the hospital after 6 months of treatment.
Abby James has had MRI’s every few months for the past couple of years. We thought we were out of the woods and just when we started to feel somewhat worry-free, a small spot showed up on a routine MRI. We were completely shocked, devastated, and heartbroken. This meant another surgery and a more extreme road of treatment.
Beginning February 27th, Abby will begin daily radiation therapy for six weeks. She will then being more challenging rounds of chemotherapy. We are completely thrown back into the childhood cancer world. Kristina, Stephen and Charlie, are trying to remain positive while holding on to God’s faithfulness. It is turning out to be pretty difficult this time. But, they are believing that God can and will get rid of this cancer again and never allow it to return! We put all our hope and trust in him!
We are asking for donations to support the Bailey family as they begin what will likely be an even MORE grueling round of fighting cancer. Any donations to support Abby James is so very helpful!
