Shane was shot in the face while being robbed on April 30,2014. He just turned 22 years old on June 9th. The bullet caused multiple facial fractures, a pharyngeal tear, and then traveled to his cervical spine causing comminuted fractures of C-1, C-2, and C-3. He is now a C-1 quadriplegic who is ventilator dependent. He is going to require a lot of equipment to maintain his quality of life. He will need a wheelchair van. I will be shopping for a used one. I'm hoping to get him an excellent wheelchair with devices that he can control with his head as he needs to maintain some independence. He'd also like to have either an Action TrackChair or TankChair that would enable him to continue enjoying outdoor activities. There are so many devices that will help him and since we are new to all of this, I couldn't possibly name them all but these are the first that come to mind. Unfortunately, none of these things are inexpensive. Shane is a great kid who would have done anything for anyone. I hope I can give him a life that he can get back to finding pleasurable and fulfilling. Any help will be deeply appreciated and there won't be enough words to express our gratitude.
