Help us grow our family.
Don protégé
Hey everyone,
Brittany and I are on our way to starting to grow our family! Being a queer couple makes the creation of life a little bit more challenging and we are looking for a bit of support to help us through the process.
As many of you may know, I was recently laid off from Rocket Companies who have an outstanding health plan that includes fertility coverage. One upside to this otherwise tragic end to my career is the generous support from Rocket that will enable us to stay on their health plan until I either secure a new role (fingers crossed!) or until the plan ends in January 2024.
Knowing that most insurance plans with new employers don’t cover fertility treatments or IVF, we are working towards freezing embryos that we will use to start growing our family in the near future.
As I mentioned above, Rocket has excellent coverage for fertility issues but one thing that it doesn’t cover is the cost of sperm. That’s where we are hoping to gain some support from you, our friends and family. We will likely need about two vials that can run about $1000-$2500/vial. Once we have that in hand, my insurance will cover the fertilization and the embryo freezing and storage.
Thanks for your potential support, anything can help.
Much love,
Katie and Brittany
