Help Us Say Goodbye to Dexter ❤️

I never thought I would have to write something like this. Dexter has been a part of our family for 14 years, and he has given us so many years of love, memories, and companionship. He isn’t just a dog to us—he’s family.

Over the past year, we’ve watched him get older and his health slowly decline. He lost his eyesight, developed small tumors throughout his body, and recently started having trouble with his balance. A few weeks ago, he had a scary episode where his head was tilted, he couldn’t keep his balance, and his eyes were shaking back and forth. Thankfully, he seemed to get better the next day, and we were so grateful for that extra time with him.

Yesterday, though, Dexter took a turn for the worse. His head tilt and balance problems came back, and we can tell that he just isn’t the same. As heartbreaking as it is, we’re at the point where we may have to make the hardest decision a pet owner can make and let him go peacefully rather than let him suffer.

We’re trying to raise $400 to help cover the cost of his euthanasia and cremation so that we can give him the peaceful goodbye he deserves and bring his ashes home with us.

Honestly, it’s hard for me to even ask for help. I know everyone has their own struggles and expenses, and I don’t expect anything from anyone. I just wanted to share Dexter’s story in case anyone is able or willing to help us through this.
