A Leg Up for Lisa

For my birthday this year I would like you all to help me get a new leg for my dear friend Lisa.

Almost a year ago Lisa had her leg amputated above the knee. Her struggles and triumphs since then can fill a book. She is an amazing human and a great friend and she needs our help.

A new leg will not only provide her with the freedom to go into the pool, or get back to the ocean she loves so much, it will also be an important alternative for the current leg when it does not fit right or even breaks down, as is the case at this time.
Without a leg she is trapped in the wheelchair, the bed, the crutches...

There is nothing more that Lisa wants than a leg that carries her around faithfully so she can then pursue a career and live her life fully and completely.

Lisa never imagined the expenses that are involved in getting a leg. Just the foot alone is approximately $7000. We hope this is information you never need to learn for yourself. 
Lisa is unemployed and currently cannot seek employment until the leg fits well and she can comfortably navigate her life.
Every outing takes meticulous calculations, energy and effort. What may seem so simple and easy for us, walking on our two legs, is a real challenge for Lisa.
