A Fresh Start for Yossi, Leah, and Meli

Hello friends, family, and community,

We’re reaching out with a humble and hopeful request.

Our family is preparing for a major move — from Coral Springs, Florida to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This isn’t just a relocation. It’s a leap of faith toward building a more affordable, sustainable life for our growing family and a meaningful opportunity to create something bigger than ourselves:

Why We’re Moving

Like many families, we’ve been facing increasing financial pressure — rising rent, cost of living, and the desire to raise our children in a supportive, grounded, and more affordable community. Just one year ago, our family faced a devastating setback when a major flood in Hallandale destroyed nearly all of our belongings. We lost furniture, clothing, cherished items — everything we had built up over the years. Since then, we’ve been doing our best to rebuild from scratch, while continuing to support others and stay grounded as a family. This move to Pittsburgh isn’t just about relocating — it’s about finally rebuilding with stability, intention, and purpose. Pittsburgh offers that opportunity — a warm Jewish community, space for growth, and the chance to make a fresh start.

But it’s not just for us.

Our Mission

We’ve always had an open-door policy — whether it’s Shabbos guests, friends who need support, or seminary girls looking for a place to breathe and feel at home.

In Pittsburgh, we want to open our home to the incredible young women of Tzohar Seminary — to be a warm, nourishing, and grounded space where they can come for a hot meal, real conversation, or just to recharge.

What We Need

Moving across the country with a young family is no small task. We’re asking for help covering the major costs of this transition: The cost of the move, travel, rent costs for first, last and security, stocking the home, among a few more items.

Our Total Goal: $35,000

We know it’s a big ask. But with your help — even $10, $18, or $100 — it becomes possible. Your support isn’t just helping our family move; it’s planting the seeds of something beautiful and lasting for the Tzohar girls and for the Pittsburgh community. If you aren't in the position to donate at this time, please share wherever you can.

To clarify, this funding project is not to raise money for Tzohar itself. This project is to raise funds for our move and a home that can comfortably host and inspire those who attend Tzohar - and anyone else who graces our home.
