In July 2026, a close group of Seniors lost their classmate Kaylee Hottle suddenly. She was part of their everyday lives, their group chats, their inside jokes, the plans they'd been making for their last year of high school together. None of them were ready for this. These girls have already been through a lot, even before losing Kaylee. Now, in what should be one of the best years of their lives, they're grieving.

We want to give them something simple. Eight of the Senior girls, along with three of their moms, are planning on one night and one day in Port Aransas on September 11th or 12th. We will book an Airbnb close to the water where they can just be together, away from school and everything else pulling at them. Some time to talk, to swim in the ocean, do Senior craft activities, to be sad if they need to be, talk about the good times they had with Kaylee and to honor her as a group.

We're trying to raise at least $500 to cover the Airbnb, food, and gas for the trip there and back. Every dollar raised goes straight to this trip and making it special for them all. I will post receipts for everything for transparency. A few of us parents are organizing it and we'd really appreciate any help our community can give as we don’t want parents to be burdened with the cost of this trip on top of the difficult task of dealing with their own grief and more so, their daughter’s grief at this very difficult time.
