Help Wycombe Food Hub Secure a New Home
Wycombe Food Hub was born out of crisis, founded at the start of the first lockdown to help those struggling with food insecurity. What began as a small operation collecting surplus food from supermarkets has grown into a vital community service, helping hundreds of families and individuals across High Wycombe every week.
We currently collect over 600 green crates of fresh and ambient surplus food each week from major supermarkets, local farms, and allotments. Many of these items are short-dated or close to their “Best Before End” (BBE) date, but they are still perfectly usable and would otherwise go to waste.
We support those who fall through the cracks:
People who don’t qualify for government aid
Self-employed individuals with no access to benefits
People recently made redundant
Those unable to access traditional food banks
The demand for our help continues to grow each week, reflecting the ongoing cost of living crisis affecting so many in our community.
Why We Need Your Help Now
We operate a Social Supermarket food hub in the centre of High Wycombe, open six days a week. This space allows us to provide not only ambient products but also chilled and frozen foods. It’s become a safe, dignified and welcoming environment for those in need.
However, our current premises have a limited lifespan — the building is scheduled for redevelopment, and we will need to relocate by the end of 2025.
We are now fundraising to secure and fit out a new home for Wycombe Food Hub, ready to open in January 2026.
Your support through our GoFundMe campaign will help us:
- Cover rental costs for a new premises
- Fund essential fit-out (chillers, shelving, flooring, electrics, signage)
- Maintain ongoing services during the transition
Why Your Support Matters
We started with zero funding, powered only by goodwill and determination. Thanks to some small grants and kind donations, we've made it this far. But to keep growing — and to meet increasing demand — we need your help.
Partner organisations are increasingly referring people to us for urgent support. In turn, we help connect those in need with statutory services and additional care.
How You Can Help
If you’re a resident, local business, or just someone who wants to make a difference — your donation, no matter the size, will help us secure the future of Wycombe Food Hub and continue to feed and support those most at risk in our community.
Please donate to our GoFundMe and share our appeal. Together, we can build a better future — one crate at a time.
