Will Canan Baseball Scoreboard
Donation protected
Our son, Will Canan, died almost 5 years ago on October 11, 2012. He courageously fought brain cancer for 8 1/2 years. One of his true loves was the game of baseball - playing, reading, and watching it.
Our family really wanted to do something special as the 5 year anniversary of his death approches to let people know his spirit is still very much alive and to honor him.
We are raising money to purchase a scoreboard for Miracle Field in Rochester in support of the Rochester Park & Rec Adaptive Baseball program. Will played several times on this field and knew how special the folks who participate in these programs are. Tom continues to volunteer and noted that something has been missing from this baseball field - a scoreboard. We thought that raising money to purhcase a scoreboard in Will's memory is such a fitting way to honor one of the world's biggest baseball fans.
We thought it would be fitting during September, Childhood Cancer Awareness moth, to announce a drive to raise money for a scoreboard for the Adaptive Rec field at Miracle Field.
We are hoping to raise $5,500 to cover the costs of the scoreboard and installation. A rendering of the scoreboard is attached. Liz, Tom and Katherine are committing $1,000 toward the cost of this project.
Please consider a donation of any amount in support of this important project.
