Hi! My name is Therese, I own and operate Bit O Gold Equestrian, where we focus on building relationships between the kids and horses, and have been building programs to highlight equine behavior in South Carolina.

*this fundraiser was started to help the herd, and now is directed towards Flys upcoming vet care, transport and surgery at NC State. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I’ll be updating as I know more!

We focus on teaching the kids how to “listen” to the horses and themselves, grounding techniques and ask (instead of demand) for cues. We use non-traditional, science backed training methods and never force our students to do anything they’re not comfortable doing. Our relationship building begins on the ground, in the field, with the horses pictured above. I will continue to get them the best care possible. Snuff (22yr old quarter horse mare) has neurologic issues, Fly (2yr old quarter horse)was born blind and had extra skin grow and block a nostril, only letting her breathe from one, Honey (19yr old Halflinger) is allergic to bugs, and Roady (our OTTB gelding) has special dietary needs.
