Hello, I started this page on behalf of my Uncle John. He's the most family-loving, hardest-working, non-complaining man I know.

And he just had both his kidneys removed.

Uncle John suffers from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). He's been fighting this painful disease since 2000 and just recently (February 13, 2014), due to continued infections, and the fact that they simply weren't working anymore, had them removed. 

There is some good news though, because of this drastic procedure the doctors have reassessed his case and activated Uncle John on the kidney transplant list. Once John recuperates, the doctors will begin actively looking for a kidney for him either via a living donor or a cadaver and our hopes are that he receives a new one sometime this year. 

As with any transplant or major surgey the immune system is extremely compromised. To ensure a safe and successful recovery, doctors prescribe numerous antibiotics to help stave off infections. Those prescriptions can become quite costly. 

Here's where you can help! It's estimated that all the medication Uncle John will need will cost close to $1000/month. Thankfully, his insurance is taking care of the bulk of the surgery cost, however; they won't be paying anything towards medication.
