Team Cory

At 8 years old Cory was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, an incurable auto immune disease that no one saw coming. No one can control diabetes no matter how much you monitor, how well you manage your diet, it changes EVERYDAY. As most type 1 diabetics do, he started to develope complications. For 22 years now he has struggled with type 1 diabetes, but 2 years ago something hit that no one was prepared for this early in his young life . At 28 years old his kidneys failed him. 2 long years of dialysis, 4 "almost" calls later on this blessed day 6/20/16 he has finally received his call!! Today he is getting a new life! He received a double transplant, a kidney AND pancreas! He will live without all the burdens he has been holding for 22 years! He will no longer be a diabetic, no more dialysis, just back to Cory! His journey to this new life is far from over, he will have 6 weeks of staying in the hospital for observation and another 3-4 months of recovery at home. His wife, April, will not be able to work during this time. We are asking for any help you are willing to give as we all continue down this journey! He will still be getting disability but it's just not enough to cover current bills plus the medical bills that will soon come. If you could please find it in your hearts to help my brother and his beautiful little family I will be forever grateful!
