Carioca Capoeira Miami 4th Batizado
Donation protected
Capoeira is a 500 year old Afro-Brazilian Martial Art. Classes are taught by Instrutora Canela and Instrutor Cobra D'Agua under the supervision of Mestre Carioca. Carioca Capoeira Miami is located in Bay Harbor Islands. Classes are taught to kids, teenagers, and adults. We do workshops and performances locally and across the country to spread the word of Capoeira. Each year Carioca Capoeira Miami has a Batizado; which is a ceremony where new students who have been training consistently receive their first rank (cord) in Capoeira. Older students who are ready will also receive a new cord at this time, signifying a higher rank and responsibility to the group. This ceremony is an important step for Capoeira practitioners as they get to see their hard work throughout the year come to fruition and recognition.
We are looking forward to having our 4th Batizado this September 13, 2014. We are bringing in masters, professors, and instructors throughout the United Sates, Brazil and Spain to show our style and lineage to students. In order for our Batizado to be the best it’s been, we need the support of our community.
The Batizado will be held in the Coral Gables Museum located at 285 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
Thank you for supporting our kids and school to do this event!
