This Go Fund Me page has been created in the hopes of reaching $7,000 USD for Mohan Kumar. Mohan is a Software QA Engineer in Bangalore, working for Refinitiv.  One year ago, he was diagnosed with ALS (MND) - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease).  ALS is a progressive nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.  This impacts Mohan’s ability to work.

He is 41 years old, married and a father of two.  As you might imagine - his health situation, along with the need to support his family, is of great concern.  There is no cure for this degenerative disease.

What does this mean for Mohan Kumar?  Muscles in all of his limbs have started to deteriorate.  He is unable to use his right hand for any activities such as lifting items and raising his hand above his shoulders.  Several fingers are not able to be straightened out.  Reflexes are diminished, and increasingly Mohan Kumar is experiencing balance problems.  

He is currently seeking treatment, however, his medical bills have exceeded the coverage needed by five lakhs, which is between $6,000 and $7,000 USD. Our goal, as his colleagues and friends, is to raise money to pay for Mohan Kumar's uncovered medical expenses.
