Spinal injury And wheelchair user needing power wheelchair

Hi,

My name is Harriet moore. I am a 37 year old woman, with a spinal injury and paralysis and a permanent wheelchair user.

In 2020, I jumped off a cliff in a suicide attempt after suffering from psychosis and schizophrenia. It was during the beginning of lock down, and I was suffering very badly with my mental health.

Luckily, and I don't know how, I survived falling 50ft onto a beach.

But it left me with many injuries...a spinal injury, broken ribs and a brain injury. This resulted in me becoming paralysed from the waist down, and wheelchair bound with almost 0% chance of me walking again.

I blame myself completely for the situation I have got myself into, and thank every day for the people who helped me for still being in one piece!!

I have had some therapy for my injuries, but at the time I spent at sailsbury spinal unit I was not in the right place mentally to really take the whole situation in, and really give it my best try.

I have been living in care for about 4 years now, however due to the area I live in now really require an electric wheelchair. I live with carers at the moment, but rely on someone pushing me wherever I go as the ground around by where I live is so bumpy and uneven. I have tried enquiring about an electric wheelchair through the NHS, but as I am able to use my arms do not qualify.

Which I feel will be sturdy enough, and powerful enough so that I can go up and down hills, and make the most of when travelling to different places with difficult terrain.

I am only asking you to donate, if you really feel for my cause, and even if I only reach the goal of £1,500 for the electric wheelchair it would be aaaamazing!! With spinal injuries. I have ever since coming out of hospital always wanted to have some intense physiotherapy, ang being there it would offer me the physio I need, and the physio require to hopefully improve my situation.
