JAH'Sol Amaru Porras-White is at it again!
Thank you in advance for all of your encouragement and support always dearest familia y amistades.
Recently, Sol returned for a second season of training and performing with CSUS' Sacramento Black Art of Dance with founder Dr. Linda Goodrich as well as with current Director and professor, Bernard Brown. In addition he has been working with Jd Frazier along with his Hip Hop competition team from Step 1 dance studio. He is also thrilled to be a part of the Natomas Performing Arts Academy as a freshman.
A little over a month ago Sol, was accepted to training opportunities in NY, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. He has decided to attend the San Francisco Ballet as well as the Alonzo King Lines Ballet summer intensives. Sol will spend 6 hours a day 6 days a week in deep intensive study of both classical and contemporary, ballet, technique, repertoire, jazz and modern workshops/ rehearsals. Each program is 3 weeks in length. The programs demand that he stay in the affiliated dorms or in town housing.
Total cost for both programs is $9,980.00
We have already secured his invitations by sending in registration fees of over $500 in addition to 25% deposits for both programs totaling over $1,700. We are in the process of receiving word on a local grant as well as a financial assistance/ merit scholarship application. *Thanks for Professor/ mentor Bernard for working on mijo's submitted solo.
Please consider your part in supporting our Sacramento Sol's San Francisco Ballet Training by contributing what you can as an affirmation of his claiming space in the Ballet and dance movement making history one leap at a time!
please note: we will have shirts by Calaverish, Fine Arte photography by Jesse Vasquez, prints by Xabi Soto Beleche and Select Ama y Apa Chicanx Artesania as gifts for those who wish to order for donations of a certain range- stand by for details
