A Better Life

Alaina Bella is our sweet little 4 year old daughter. She was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome which caused the loss of her fingers, a clubfoot, vision impairment (even with glasses), speech and motor delays, and several learning disabilities. Life has been rough for this little one with the many surgeries and daily struggles; however, she is strong and brave and ambitious. She attends doctors appointments and therapies several times a week to help her have a better life. We noticed about a year ago that time with a dog brightened her face and seemed to give her a bit of hope. She seemed to have several mental growth spurts during the short time she was around the dog too. Something about dogs brings a such a smile to her face and a lift to her spirit. Since then we've been researching service dogs and now see the benefit this can bring to her life by helping her gain stability and alerting us when she has a seizure. Our journey for service dog training has begun. We hope you feel as passionately as we do about this. Alaina is do special and loving and deserves to have all the help she can get to make her life just that much easier. We have looked into various training programs throughout the nation and have only found a hand full that didn't have a 3 to 5 year waiting list and were willing to train a service dog for someone younger than 8 years old.
