Screen Music Program in Pavia, Italy!
Donación protegida
I've been accepted into the Screen Music Program this summer in Pavia, Italy, where I'll have the chance to work with award-winning film and video game composers, sharing my work and learning more about the industry of music for the screen. One of the clinicians, Alison Plante, directs the film music department at Berklee College of Music in NYC, and others like Jeff Broadbent and Clint Bajakian are leaders in the industry who can be heard in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Assassin's Creed, X-Men, and many in the Marvel franchise!

This is just a marvelous opportunity to improve my craft and make connections with industry professionals and potential future international colleagues. The program boasts of its 10-year-strong network of alumni who regularly collaborate on new projects, a network with commission opportunities, which could be a real advantage as I build a further career in music.
Totaling 1,699 Euros for tuition (Airfare, meals, and travel are considered separate expenses...), my stay at the academy will cost 1,902 American Dollars. Airfare will cost another ~$1500, and any spill over those amounts is to go toward standard living costs of food, laundry, etc. and possibly some travel insurance.
If I am fortunate enough to see the number reach beyond the goal, I would love to see the rest of this country full of rich culture that figures so strongly in music history. I could see the Teatro di San Carlo and the Teatro la Fenice in person, I could take part in the annual Puccini Festival in his hometown, and I could finally see Carmen (in the open air Arena di Verona)!
The opportunity to participate in the Screen Music Program is a life-changing one that will not just benefit my art but expand my horizons and introduce me to the wealth of culture and history that Italy has to offer. I hope to come back a better composer, a better musician, and perhaps a better person for having seen a little more of the world than before.
Thank you for reading! And I'll see you when I get back :)
