Hi all, my name is Becca Smith and my mother and I are attempting to raise money for her brother and his family. I'm a college student who currently resides in Arizona but has a love for her family that stretches across state lines. The tropical storm hurricane Harvey recently hit Texas and left many people in devestation. Unfortunately, this included some close family of mine that resides in Houston: Glenn, Tami, Alexis, and Taylor Scamman. They were forced to evacuate Houston after two and a half feet of water flooded into their home on August 28th (pictures below). They returned to their house on August 29th, having to park two blocks from their home and wade through water to get there. The water had receded from inside their home but left a mess. They ripped out the carpet in their home ASAP. Damage to the house is still being assessed. The water had also entered their cars and they were determined to be a complete loss. Unfortunately, my family members don't have insurance to cover this type of situation. Now that the storm is coming to a close, it is time to start rebuilding. Realistically, my family is desperately in need of some help and support.This is an extremely hard time for many people, but anything you can spare would be extremely appreciated. Any funds raised will be used on repairs for the house (new flooring, paint, furniture, etc.) or purchase of a vehicle for the family. But, even a kind message or a prayer could do wonders.
