Saving My Brother's Family from Gaza's Ruins

My name is Sulaiman Thaher and I currently live in Sweden. I am writing to share the heartbreaking story of my brother, Hussam, and his family, who have been deeply affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Hussam and his family, consisting of his wife and three children, once lived a peaceful and contented life in a beautiful home in northern Gaza. But everything changed dramatically on 7 October when their home was tragically destroyed by air strikes. Overnight, their safe haven was reduced to rubble and they were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Forced to flee for their lives, Hussam and his family took refuge in Khan Younis, where they lived in a makeshift tent for two months. Just as they were beginning to adjust to their new reality, the haunting echoes of the war came back to haunt them. Another round of air strikes tore through their temporary shelter, leaving them with no choice but to flee once again.

Their journey to safety took them to Nuseirat, where they hoped to find some semblance of stability amidst the chaos. But peace remained elusive as the violence of war continued. With heavy hearts, they were forced to evacuate once again, this time seeking refuge in Rafah.

Today, Hussam and his family are in Rafah, living in constant fear of further displacement. The threat of air strikes and conflict looms over their heads, making every day a struggle for survival. The psychological toll of living in such circumstances is unimaginable, especially for the young children who have witnessed the destruction of their home and the upheaval of their lives.

I am launching this campaign with a deep sense of urgency to help Hussam and his family escape the ravages of war in Gaza. They desperately need our support to secure safe passage out of the conflict zone and rebuild their lives in a place where they can live without fear and uncertainty.

100,000 Kr in expenses during Yusuf and his family stay in Egypt.
