In the aftermath of Richmond's recent death, his long-time friend, lover, and companion Mimi Martinez is being evicted, tragically and absolutely unjustly, from their apartment. Friends of Mimi and Richmond have an airtight case against the Trump-like New York landlord. We are raising funds to pay for Mimi's legal representation. With your help, we will win.

Richmond Shepard, “The World’s Oldest Mime”, died on July 2nd. Our dear friend and brother was a talented and amazing man. We loved him and he will be missed. It's also true that he not always fully on top of life's daily details, especially near the end. We now face a very tough situation and need your immediate help: The right of his loyal, live-in partner and steadfast source of support, Mimi Martinez, to continue living in the apartment they shared for the past two years is being denied by their powerful corporate landlord.
Amazing as this may sound - with cruel assistance from some very unhelpful members of Richmond’s family--the landlord changed the apartment locks and Mimi has been left literally homeless and crying in the hallway outside the locked apartment. Mimi has only the clothes on her back (even their pet fish remain now locked up and unattended!). She has had to seek temporary shelter in South Brooklyn, two hours away by train from her longtime home. By the laws of New York State and City, Mimi has every right to continue to live in the apartment that is her home. But the landlord, who – like Trump - has deep pockets, is known to “lawyer up” in order to fight against poor people like Mimi and repossess lucrative rent controlled apartments like theirs...
Richmond’s many friends are outraged by what has happened, and we are determined and well prepared to fight the landlord. We have found an excellent lawyer. We are facing an immediate need for $3000 in order to retain his services for the impending legal proceeding. We are appealing to all of Richmond’s friends and family to help raise this money.
