Solving the Alignment Problem in Economics

Tax deductible
Many misalignments and perverse incentives in our economies stem from lack of understanding and communication breakdowns. Reorienting economic systems around education and knowledge sharing can help address endemic issues. Too often, markets reward rent-seeking, speculation and extraction over real value creation. But shared knowledge intrinsically creates value for society. EDchains create in-built economic incentives for education, not just capital accumulation.

Similarly, legacy credentials and accreditation gatekeep access to learning and skills. Open pedagogical models optimized through token engineering and collaborative curation can make knowledge more accessible.

Centralized institutions hoarding and siloing data also impede transparency and collective intelligence. Decentralized, open data layers radically improve visibility into economic activities and effects.

At the highest level, social development is constrained when knowledge abundance is inhibited by outdated technical or incentive structures. But cryptoeconomic protocols allow us to hardcode altruism and encode social good directly into ecosystem design.

Blockchain provides an emerging palette for engineering economic systems aligned with our values from the ground up. Core principles of transparency, decentralization, personal agency and community can become operative principles, not just abstract ideals.

Progress requires thoughtful system architects willing to debug and upgrade antiquated models. By intentionally revaluing education, we can gradually fix misaligned incentives and build economies that nourish collective potential.

My name is Joe Maristela, and I’m requesting your support for a cause I care deeply about – democratizing education by building open knowledge sharing platforms.

For the past year, I’ve been working with a small team to develop a decentralized knowledge economy called EDchain. EDchain uses blockchain technology and token incentives to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and collaboration.

We believe that knowledge should be abundant and community-driven. But outdated institutions often restrict access and contribution. EDchain offers a new model by rewarding people for sharing what they know in an open network.

So far through grassroots effort, my team has:
  • Published the EDchain technical framework so anyone can contribute (www.parkhealth.io)
  • Developed a prototype curriculum exchange and tested it in local communities
  • Started assembling partners to pilot EDchain for professional development.
  • What I need now is funding to accelerate this project.

A seed contribution from this GoFundMe would allow me to:
Recruit 2 more developersto build the EDchain platform
Hire experts to refine the incentive models
  • Release the beta version and expand pilots
  • Increase scholarships and access
  • Accelerate mobile apps and integrations.

Your donation will directly help realize this vision of ubiquitous learning and sharing. You can learn more at www.parkhealth.io or follow my progress on Twitter @joemaristela. Even small contributions add up and make a difference. Thank you for your support!
