Fulfill Nile's Dreams at Interlochen Academy!

My name is Lindsay, and I am the proud solo-parent of a very hard-working, motivated and inspired musical theatre actor, Nile Clipner! His dream is to attend Interlochen Center for the Arts for the year-round program, and we hope to help him realize this dream!

Nile will return as a scholarship student Interlochen Center for the Arts for his second summer, participating in two programs : Musical Theatre Songwriting and the Musical Theatre Production (Carol King's Beautiful), for a total of 7 weeks. He's so excited to share that he has been recruited for the year-round academy at Interlochen!

Interlochen is a haven for young artistic minds and with inspired motivation, can become the most incredible springboard for a future as a professional actor and songwriter. Nile's college dreams are directly impacted by his attendance this summer and future academy academic years, and he needs community support toward his tuition to fulfill this dream!

Nile has been working two jobs to earn his remaining tuition for this summer, and additionally, his hope is to attend the year-round academy, setting the stage for an academically & artistically strong Junior and/or Senior year, in preparation for necessary college scholarships.

Nile has been a 2-year Youth Diplomat in the KC area, a strong student academically, a scholarship student with KC Ballet, a proud scholarship student at Interlochen, an actor with Theatre in the Park & The Barn Theatre, a professional actor with The Coterie Theatre, a professional performer for Global Table Gala of Jewish Vocational Services, and a proud actor in several Spinning Tree Theatre productions, under his nurturing local mentors.

Nile will be attending college based upon his scholarship potential, as he has had only one adult supporting him throughout all his life, and has never received financial help from other sources. He has grown to fully understand the importance of true hard work in his academics, his extracurriculars and his jobs during his high school years. He knows that his dedication to each of these areas help him build the character to support his natural talents, and that he is capable of incredible growth in the future with his attention to working hard today.

I am fortunate to have taught as faculty in the dance department at Interlochen last summer during Nile's first summer, and I witnessed first-hand, the incredible dedication from Nile in his craft. As a theatrical family duo, it was a life-changing experience for both of us! I also witnessed an unbelievable sense of belonging for Nile with his wonderful peers, as well as immense community support from the theatre directors and teachers. I have never seen him more inspired, accepted wholeheartedly, committed, and enthusiastic about every element of the craft - and the performer I witnessed him blossom into at the end of his 7 weeks was indescribably elevated. Each of his gifted mentors (Broadway veterans & Juilliard professors) in songwriting, vocal coaching, acting and dance, left an immeasurable impression upon him.

He believes wholeheartedly in the program at Interlochen and how it has transformed his focus and life, and he is so grateful to the donors who make his scholarships possible. He hopes to be a counselor and teacher eventually!

Nile would love to make his summer and year-round academy scholarship offers a reality! He just needs to close the gap in funding! Nile has worked at two stores to earn much of his own tuition for his summer program after scholarship, and would like to raise funds for the remaining costs of his summer program & transportation, as well as raise funds for his exciting acceptance to the Interlochen Arts Academy year-round program!

His directors are doing everything possible to extend a very generous scholarship for him to attend the year-round program, and we are beyond grateful for this opportunity for Nile!
